I think a relationship with Apple is very love/hate. They do really amazing things... then shoot themselves in the foot.
A couple other recent examples:
Apple's Time Machine software won't work with an NAS enabled Airport Extreme... but it will work with their Time Capsule product (which is basically the same thing).

I love Apple and all, but using their stuff has always been a double edged sword...
