The hardware tax for the base system isn't that bad (well, compared to other vendors, not build it yourself).
Expanding memory on the other hand o_O????
1 GB stick for my PowerBook, $29.99 on New Egg
On Apple: $300 (no, that's not a typo)
10X price difference? GMAFB.
